What to do when you've already gotten you car aligned and your car still drifts."Hey honey could you hand me the phone??" As you drive down the free way with your car cruise control set thinking everything is fine... Your car drifts to the left entering the other person's lane! "I just got my alignment checked!" You test the alignment as you drive down the freeway some more. It now drifts to the right. What could it be? Lets go over a few examples of what could be causing this common problem. ![]() This is exactly what happened to me with my 2009 Toyota Camry SE. After many attempts to get the alignment done, I ran out answers as to what could be causing this issue but hopefully I can provide some answers. ![]() What you first need to discover is what the nature of the pull is. Is your car consistently pulling to the right? Is there a pattern to how your car is responding? Is it when you apply the brakes or when you accelerate? You'll be able to discover the core issue based on these questions. Clear up the obviousAfter you've checked and fixed the alignment, your tires would be the next thing that would be an obvious choice as to why the car would be moving or veering to the right or left, it makes sense right? If your car is moving only to the right, it could be that your car's left hand tires have more air pressure than on the right, or just one tire. This can be something that with a quick check at repair shop they will do this for free for you. Find out what your car's recommended tire pressure is. Could it be the Axle?Since you've checked your wheel alignment, your tire pressure and you still find that your car is veering right or left, it possibly could be your axle. It would take a lot of force to mess with your axle but it could be as simple as going through the median where your car bottoms out scraping slightly your axle to bend just a little on one side causing a torque in the way your car drives. That's far fetched, but it definitely happens you might want to get your axle looked at. This is commonly called the "thrust line" distance. It means the front and rear axle are too far apart causing a slight degree shift this can cause the two to no longer be parallel, and the the base to no longer be perpendicular with the axle. This can clearly be misaligned with years of driving, manufacture, tolerances and other causes. It can happen to any manufacturer, even if nothing occurred, it was just poor craftsmanship, however it's more likely something occurred this and needs to be looked at by a professional. steering bag![]() Another answer could be the steering box or steering bag. By doing an "over-center adjustment", meaning with the wheels as straight as you can get them you lose the steering adjustment bolt to reduce the lash. If you twist too much you can reduce tolerances too much, you'll know you went to far when the steering wheel stays where you are in stead of returning straight ahead. Get your brakes checked![]() Lets say you had your wheel alignment looked at, your tire pressure exacted and even your axle looked at and it's still not corrected, it's time to take a look at your brakes. One brake could be getting caught not being able to move forward because of a small pressure lagging that side or tire while the other tires are freely spinning with no issues. This is as simple as changing you brake pads. So if you think you're having brake problems this can turn into a huge problem in the future, make sure you have these looked at before you go anywhere else. Keep calm and continue having it looked atDon't freak out after you haven't figured everything after one check of everything on this list, have it professionally looked at further to determine what is causing this strange drift or alignment issue. If it's more severe or still sever there needs to be an answer, if it's minor and still bothers you take it in. If you able to live with the slight drift then it could be just fine. Again, keep calm and keep on driving!!
Window tints![]() Window tints are a thin laminate material that can be installed on the interior and exterior of glass windows in all sorts of vehicles and homes. It is usually made from polyethylene terephthalate. Window tints are generally categorized in four components, (dye, metallic, carbon and ceramic.) The first tints were done back around the time World War II started, a popular manufacturer was EZ Eye factory tint. Since they were the first real company to manufacture tint films some people at home tried making their own make shift window tints using a spray which didn't have the same effect. In most cases it was uneven and hard to keep consistent throughout the window. The first real window tint was invented in 1966. ![]() Window tint film started out as "dye based" which didn't have good control of the heat within the car interior allowing the car temperature to quickly rise and didn't respond well to the sun's heat, creating bubbles and easily pealing off of the car window. ![]() The next generation of car window tints were metallic window films, created in the nineties. It was a mixture of metallic with dye in the film. These had a stronger resistance to shattering however blocks cellular service yet is still able to resist up to 50% of the heat. ![]() The newest tints of today are ceramic window tints. These tints last, well forever. They are unbelievable with hear rejection and have no interference with electronics. They also have UVA and UVB rejection with less tint to the film allowing more light in while still rejecting the UV rays, if tinted darker the UV rejection is even higher. These tints are constant exceeding expectations and growing in popularity. Overall window tints are increasingly growing and has started the the new power of vinyl wraps, which has increased in popularity. At a young age Edsel showed more interest than his father in flashier stylish vehicle's. While working on the 1927 Model A, Henry Ford ensured it's durability and quality while Henry put Edsel in charge of the New Model A's body. At the same time Edsel helped develop 4 wheel mechanical brakes and a sliding car transmission. Due to this development, the Model A sold over 4 million models in the first four years. Though he and Henry disagreed on major issues, they still remained a closeness. Edsel stubbornness, though talented and enormously influential in building cars, was the cause of his premature death in 1943. He was well educated due to his father's amassed fortune, he was however isolated until it became time for him to take over the family business as president and joined the company right out of high school. As president he introduced the brand Mercury and the Continental Lincoln also known as Lincoln that we know today. He took the company oversees and modernized these cars using hydraulic brakes. He loved working along side his father, though his focus and attention was towards their body and style rather than mechanical and engineering. As a board member learned his father's resistance and determination to maintain the status quo while out of the country became the unintended heir to the empire. While Ernest Kanzler, Henry's Vice President was trying to convince Henry to change the model T to a 6 cylinder due to the drop in sales, with Chevy's newest introduction of color options and more. This threw Henry into a rage. This threw Henry into rage, to think the Model T needed 6 cylinder and demoted Ernest replacing him with Edsel. As Edsel established himself he became increasingly focused on the style and flare for the vehicle. He hired design and styling company to compete with General Motor's color and design. He hired head designer John Tjaarda and E.T. "Bob" Gregorie, veterans of the coachbuilt era. They introduced the Linclon Zephyr in 1935 which was undeniably stylish and new yet continued his father's legacy in showing the world that Ford is a name never to be forgotten. 1935 Lincoln Zephyr Edsel will be remembered for his design techniques and innovatinos done in brakes and taking the company oversees among other accomplishments. However, his constant constant warring with Bennett and his father left Edsel bed ridden with ulcers. While the elder Ford blamed the sickness on Edsel's jua deviv lifestyle, he forced him to drink unpasteurized milk from one of the Ford farms. The unfiltered contaminants thus killed Edsel on May 26, 1943. He was only 49.
