29 Ideas to Cross-Sell More Insurance to Current Clients

1- KNow the two types - Did you know there are two distinct types of cross selling situations? Prospects who already own the product.  These people already bought the coverage from a competitor bur you're trying to get the business with your agency. They key with them is Repetition. Collecting the x Date, Good follow up and selling benefits of your agency. The key with them is repetition. C

Prospects who do not already own the product - These people don't actually sell them. The key to them is product awareness and I would add knowledge of other carriers.

They do require different approaches and sales tactics. If you're really treating all cross-sale prospects the same, take a few moments to think about how each is? What systems are you using in your business. I have noticed that all successfull sales and business owners use a system that works for them. Of the best I know, Jeremy Stringham has an excellent sales system with friends and acquantences that bring loads of business to him and his agency. Howard burkholz has chapters and PPC partnerships that provide him an established name and online prescence that provide serious renewals every single day.

Sometimes cross-sales fall in your lap. “Do you guys also do life insurance?” Beautiful thing, huh? can sometimes feel like an overwhelming process. It can be costly, time consuming and daunting to even know where to begin. But, it doesn’t always have to be complicated or difficult to turn your home into a haven and make it feel more personal. Quick updates, such as painting things around your home, can make a difference in its look and feel — and it’s affordable and easy to do yourself. If you aren’t familiar with painting items around the home, you’ll want to be sure to take a few simple steps to prep. Always clean the surface you’re going to paint, and don’t forget to use a mask and protective eyewear to help keep fumes away from your eyes and mouth. Remember, always open a window or work in a well-ventilated area, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Once you’ve taken the appropriate safety precautions, you’re ready to dive in. Here are five things around your house that you may not know you can paint: 1. Cabinet Hardware Many people know that you can give your cabinetry a new look with a fresh coat of paint, but have you ever thought about painting the hardware? A few coats of spray paint can change the look of your drawers and cabinets and make it feel modern again. Be sure to purchase the appropriate type of spray paint for the hardware material. You can even try out different colors as a test run if you’re considering replacing the hardware soon. Adding a quick coat of black spray paint on a knob or two is an inexpensive way to see if you like black hardware in your kitchen, rather than replacing it all with new knobs or pulls. Get a quick, personalized insurance quote today. SELECT COVERAGE TYPE

GET A QUOTE  2. Interior Doors Most of us don’t pay much attention to the doors throughout our house, but they can become statement pieces with a little bit of creativity. After you do a quick sanding on the door, use latex paint or try chalkboard paint to create an interactive door. Black doors can make a stylish impression in your home, but you could also try a punch of color if you want a more playful look. 3. Furniture A coat of paint can provide a stylish update to various types of furniture in your home. You can paint the obvious pieces like your dining room table, a dresser or an entertainment center. But, you can also give new life to outdoor furniture, chairs or even that old metal filing cabinet where you organize your documents. The paint you’ll use for this project depends on the type of material you’re painting and the look you’re going for. For example, chalkboard paint can give a more rustic, distressed texture whereas an oil-based paint leaves a high-gloss finish. Spray paint is typically a good option for metal furniture, too. You can play around with different types of paint to see what you like. 4. Flooring It may come as a surprise, but depending on the material, you may be able to paint your floors. Ceramic or porcelain tile and concrete flooring take to paint well, and it’s a simple way to refresh a floor that you may not be able to afford to replace. You can find porch and floor paint at your local hardware store. 5. Ceilings Of course, your floor or walls aren’t the only part of a room you can paint. A painted ceiling is a quick way to add some personality to a room. You can always simply paint a ceiling white for a fresh and bright look, but consider adding a bold color to make the space feel cozy. This is also an easy way to downplay popcorn ceilings if you don’t want to remove them, and depending on the color can make your room feel both taller and larger. If you want to spruce up your house but don’t want to take on a major renovation project, consider painting an unexpected part of your home. Not only is it an affordable way to get a new look, it’s reversible — so it’s fun to play around with design to see what you like.

WHy buy life insurance after age 60

Think about this, over your lifetime you will earn the majority of what you will ever earn in a period of 40 years only. When you're in your early 20's your still trying to figure out what you want to do with your life, in most cases, but when you start to create income for yourself, you now can start to pay for life insurance and get your family covered, but what about everything you've built over the course of your lifetime? How will you have that protected. When people think of life insurance they don't ever think of a buffer to protect your assets that you've created, they think of paying off funeral costs and paying family members. But life insurance is really another asset of large proportions you are adding to your overall net worth. It's like buying a house with a payment of $40 a month. They certainly don't think of it as an asset that protects you against market volatility. Since markets are so volatile, a life insurance policy can be safer than real estate and many other vehicles you use to to build wealth. Safer even than a bank.  Even when you children are grown and gone. When the market goes south and you die, before you have time to rebuild or replace lost assets.

Here are some reason's why you should have life insurance after 60:

1- Offset loss of retirement income to spouse at death.
2- Pay off debts
3-Pay costs associated with death
4- Any other expenses
5- Pay income with respect of a decedents taxes on IRA's 401(k)s, etc.
6- Pay estate and inheritance taxes
7- Provide for the care of a disabled child, spouse, etc.
8- Offset a key person in a small or large business
9- Can be designated to provide an "inevitable gain". no matter when you die.
10- It's creditor proof
11- Pay off business interests such as building ownership, land ownership, debts due to business ect.
12- It adds flexibility to your estate plan.
13- It can be used as a gift to children
14- It can be used as collateral on loans. The older people all they tend to take on more debt. Big house, business loan, ect. This can pay off those debts.
15- UL policy are great return on investment (often times 10 times more than a bank)
16- UL policy you can take out as much as you need no penalty on taxes.

Review what your personal situation is and evaluate if it is a good idea to continue paying for life insurance past 60 years. Not only is it great for you children but it's more of an asset when you still have expenses that need to be paid for much cheaper than those payments that you have.

why is my car drifting when I just got the alignment done?

Read Now

What to do when you've already gotten you car aligned and your car still drifts.

"Hey honey could you hand me the phone??" As you drive down the free way with your car cruise control set thinking everything is fine... Your car drifts to the left entering the other person's lane! "I just got my alignment checked!" You test the alignment as you drive down the freeway some more. It now drifts to the right. What could it be? Lets go over a few examples of what could be causing this common problem.
Picture

This is exactly what happened to me with my 2009 Toyota Camry SE. After many attempts to get the alignment done, I ran out answers as to what could be causing this issue but hopefully I can provide some answers.

Picture

What you first need to discover is what the nature of the pull is. Is your car consistently pulling to the right? Is there a pattern to how your car is responding? Is it when you apply the brakes or when you accelerate? You'll be able to discover the core issue based on these questions.

Clear up the obvious

After you've checked and fixed the alignment, your tires would be the next thing that would be an obvious choice as to why the car would be moving or veering to the right or left, it makes sense right? If your car is moving only to the right, it could be that your car's left hand tires have more air pressure than on the right, or just one tire. This can be something that with a quick check at repair shop they will do this for free for you. Find out what your car's recommend tire pressure is.

Could it be the Axle?

Since you've checked your wheel alignment, your tire pressure and you still find that your car is veering right or left, it possibly could be your axle. It would take a lot of force to mess with your axle but it could be as simple as going through the median where your car bottoms out scraping slightly your axle to bend just a little on one side causing a torque in the way your car drives. That's far fetched, but it definitely happens you might want to get your axle looked at. This is commonly called the "thrust line" distance. It means the front and rear axle are too far apart causing a slight degree shift this can cause the two to no longer be parallel, and the the base to no longer be perpendicular with the axle. This can clearly be misaligned with years of driving, manufacture, tolerances and other causes. Dog tracking can happen to any manufacturer, even if nothing occurred, it was just poor craftsmanship, however it's more likely something occurred this and needs to be looked at by a professional.

steering bag

Picture
Another answer could be the steering box or steering bag.  By doing an "over-center adjustment", meaning with the wheels as straight as you can get them you lose the steering adjustment bolt to reduce the lash. If you twist too much you can reduce tolerances too much, you'll know you went to far when the steering wheel stays where you are in stead of returning straight ahead.

Get your brakes checked

Picture
Lets say you had your wheel alignment looked at, your tire pressure exacted and even your axle looked at and it's still not corrected, it's time to take a look at your brakes. One brake could be getting caught not being able to move forward because of a small pressure lagging that side or tire while the other tires are freely spinning with no issues. This is as simple as changing you brake pads. So if you think you're having brake problems this can turn into a huge problem in the future, make sure you have these looked at before you go anywhere else.

Keep calm and continue having it looked at

Don't freak out after you haven't figured everything after one check of everything on this list, have it professionally looked at further to determine what is causing this strange drift or alignment issue. If it's more severe or still sever there needs to be an answer, if it's minor and still bothers you take it in. If you able to live with the slight drift then it could be just fine. Again, keep calm and keep on driving!!

Window tints

Picture
Window tints are a thin laminate material that can be installed on the interior and exterior of glass windows in all sorts of vehicles and homes. It is usually made from polyethylene terephthalate. Window tints are generally categorized in four components, (dye, metallic, carbon and ceramic.) The first tints were done back around the time World War II started, a popular manufacturer was EZ Eye factory tint. Since they were the first real company to manufacture tint films some people at home tried making their own make shift window tints using a spray which didn't have the same effect. In most cases it was uneven and hard to keep consistent throughout the window. The first real window tint was invented in 1966.

Picture

Window tint film started out as "dye based" which didn't have good control of the heat within the car interior allowing the car temperature to quickly rise and didn't respond well to the sun's heat, creating bubbles and easily pealing off of the car window.

Picture

The next generation of car window tints were metallic window films, created in the nineties. It was a mixture of metallic with dye in the film. These had a stronger resistance to shattering however blocks cellular service yet is still able to resist up to 50% of the heat.

Picture
The newest tints of today are are ceramic window tints. These tints last, well forever. They are unbelievable with hear rejection and have no interference with electronics. They also have UVA and UVB rejection with less tint to the film allowing more light in while still rejecting the UV rays, if tinted darker the UV rejection is even higher. These tints are constant exceeding expectations and growing in popularity.

Overall window tints are increasingly growing and has started the the new power of vinyl wraps, which has increased in popularity. Window tints will always be in demand due to their scientific and proven benefits and increasing style and common usage.

christmas eve eve

whAT TO EXPECT ON THIS DAY?

Picture

Because everyone on this day is hustling about getting presents, looking for the best gift they can find this year.. there's also much more anticipation on this day than on Christmas. I personally feel it more on the days leading up to Christmas than the actual day. In the back of your mind you know everyone is going around buying presents for family members stuffing their stockings and making lists of what they want for next year. Christmas Eve Eve is capitalisma and commercialism at it's best. With lists and lists of presents and friends sending small and simple kindnesses that keep one another close in theory, but how are our hearts. Are we really closer to each other from giving one another a gift? I would say, YES! If it's with the heart you could say we are being like the wiseman who presented the gold, frankinsense and myrr. I like to think that gift giving is like a representation of our commitment to a baby, in Jesus Christ.  We forget our cares for the hollidays and want to give and receive.

But what to expect? Family members to want to be close to you. Family traditions to be formed, good examples? Making ginger bread houses, going places with family, opening one present, trational mary and joseph play presentation, travel, parties and togetherness. It's a wonderful time of year! A celebration of the time when the birth of the King of Kings was born. A time to reflect on all that He as done for us. Although we don't see it or with our eyes, we feel the feeling that this was something important, to remember the Son of God, why? Because He paid the price for all sin and allowed all humankind a chance to become cleansed like He is clean. To be recommpensed for all wrong to one day enjoy life like He lives it. We expect that to be the motivating factor behind all the hustle and bustle to give the gifts that we all want to recieve, LOVE.
Picture
Why is Christmas Eve a Celebration in itself? It is believed in Lutheran churches that Christ was born at night, midnight mass is celebrated on Christmas Eve. We thus find lots of family members celebrating on this day the birth of Christ, reinacting his birth. It is also the tradition that Saint Nicholas, Santa Claus or Father Christmas would depart their homeland on their long annual journey to diliver gifts and presents to children all around the world. Many people belive this tration of gift given is given from the maji, who were the wiseman who brought presents to Christ at his birth. Saint Nicholas was trationally known to have lived from March 15 270 - 6 December 343. He was also known as Saint Nicholas the Wondermaker from his many miracles that he performed. He however began secrecly giving gifts to various people, which has formed the traditional model we now know as the role of Santa Claus.

Picture
There is so much happiness and joy with the secret gift giving. It means hope. It means miracles. One example is a friend I made while I was in Brazil for two years. When his family not only didn't have money for Christmas, they didn't have enough for the coming bills to pay their mortgage and gas bills. They had spent their money on fivolous things like a Porsche. However they didn't have anything to give each other on Christmas. They had been praying for months for something to happen. To get a Christmas miracle they didn't have any money for the coming months. When they got home Christmas Eve Eve, with days awaiting Christmas day they found an evelope on their front porch. "What is this??" Must be a letter from aunt Stephanie. After hopening it up it was $10,000 cash in an envelope. No known person. It wasn't stamped, just a full envelope. They thanked their God that day for the gift of their secret santa. With enough money to last the next 5-6 months for their bills they had their fires full and warm that winter.

This is the meaning of Christmas and the things we see on Christmas Eve Eve. May you have a great Christmas and remember Jesus Christ this winter season.

1922 Lincoln Phaeton
Edsel Ford was born in Detroit Michigan being an only child and was named after Edsel Ruddiman being one of Henry's favorite childhood friends.
At a young age Edsel showed more interest than his father in flashier stylish vehicle's. While working on the 1927 Model A, Henry Ford ensured it's durability and quality while Henry put Edsel in charge of the New Model A's body. At the same time Edsel helped develop 4 wheel mechanical brakes and a sliding car transmission. Due to this development, the Model A sold over 4 million models in the first four years.
Though he and Henry disagreed on major issues, they still remained a closeness. Edsel stubbornness, though talented and enormously influential in building cars, was the cause of his premature death in 1943. He was well educated due to his father's amassed fortune, he was however isolated until it became time for him to take over the family business as president and joined the company right out of high school. As president he introduced the brand Mercury and the Continental Lincoln also known as Lincoln that we know today. He took the company oversees and modernized these cars using hydraulic brakes.
He loved working along side his father, though his focus and attention was towards their body and style rather than mechanical and engineering. As a board member learned his father's resistance and determination to maintain the status quo while out of the country became the unintended heir to the empire. While Ernest Kanzler, Henry's Vice President was trying to convince Henry to change the model T to a 6 cylinder due to the drop in sales, with Chevy's newest introduction of color options and more. This threw Henry into a rage. This threw Henry into rage, to think the Model T needed 6 cylinder and demoted Ernest replacing him with Edsel.

As Edsel established himself he became increasingly focused on the style and flare for the vehicle. He hired design and styling company to compete with General Motor's color and design. He hired head designer John Tjaarda and E.T. "Bob" Gregorie, veterans of the coachbuilt era. They introduced the Linclon Zephyr in 1935 which was undeniably stylish and new yet continued his father's legacy in showing the world that Ford is a name never to be forgotten.
Picture

Edsel will be remembered for his design techniques and innovatinos done in brakes and taking the company oversees among other accomplishments. However, his constant constant warring with Bennett and his father left Edsel bed ridden with ulcers. While the elder Ford blamed the sickness on Edsel's jua deviv lifestyle, he forced him to drink unpasteurized milk from one of the Ford farms. The unfiltered contaminants thus killed Edsel on May 26, 1943. He was only 49.
